I have received your despatch No.556 of the 11th

ultimo enclosing copies of an urgent King's Regulation,

the terms of which I had approved by telegraph, issued

by you for the purpose of prohibiting the importation

of Morphia into China and ita manufacture in that

country by British Subjects.
